Distemper and gold on cloth; the painted recto with Uchen inscriptions in gold identifying the thirty-fourth abbot of Ngor Monastery with an epithet describing him as an emanation of Vajradhara; ' Homage to the All-Pervading Lord of the Hundred (Buddha) Families, Vajrdhara Palden Chokyong' ; with a donor inscription in Drutsa in black ink along the lower silk mount stating, ' This magnificent thangka painting along with the canopy in the communal house of Minyak at Evam [Choen Monastery] were donated by the one born in Tibet, Lama Rinchen Lhundrup, for granting good fortune in this life and the next. May this be auspicious '; the bearing two identical consecratory inscriptions and mantras behind each hierarch including the Buddhist creed ' ye dharma hetu ' and the ' patience creed '.
