A very rare early George III Mustard Pot, of very large size, made

Dear David, The Mustard Pot is modelled in an unusually large "Drum" form and the sides are pierced with bands of beautiful interlocking scrolls. Both the base and rim display an everted reeded horizontal band and the plain, stepped, domed cover is engraved with a contemporary Crest. The Mustard Pot displays a substantial cast scroll handle, decorated with ribbing, as well as a beautiful, large, cast pierced thumb piece. The Mustard Pot has a blue glass liner and is fully marked on the base and with the maker's mark and sterling mark on the underside of the cover. The Mustard Pot is pictured with another George III example, modelled in the usual size, which illustrates its unusual form. The Mustard Pot comes with an associated Old English Pattern Ladle made in London in 1786. Height, to the top of the thumb piece: 4.2 inches, 10.5 cm. Diameter of the base: 3.45 inches, 8.63 cm. Weight: 9oz.
