Alessi - Michael Graves - Coffee set (7) - Steel, Glass

Splendid Alessi coffee set for design lovers, consisting of a sugar bowl, a creamer, 2 coffee cups with saucer and spoon designed by Michael Graves, made of high-quality steel, thermoplastic resin and glass. Michael Graves, born in Indianapolis in 1934, taught architecture at Princeton from 1962, where in the same years he opened his studio. In the 1970s he was part of the “New York Five,” a group formed by five postmodern architects, a movement of which he is considered one of the founders. Among his works are the Portland Building and the Humana Building in Louisville, Disney’s Dolphin and the Swan Hotel in Florida, the Denver Public Library. His style blends erudite impressions of European tradition with American pop. He won numerous international accolades including the Gold Medal of the American Institute of Architects. For Alessi he created iconic objects such as the kettle 9093. He passed away in 2015. Graves applied his personal visual code in which influences ranging from Art Deco to Pop Art converge, up to the language of cartoons. Thanks to this extraordinary design approach, the objects in this family have become internationally recognized icons of 1980s and 1990s design. All objects are in excellent condition, with minimal evident signs of wear. The photographs reflect the actual condition of the objects. Tazzine OUT OF PRODUCTIO
