Boscolo” by the famous Venetian master Andrea Boscolo around 1998. The author, who passed away prematurely in 2009, is recognized in the island’s glassmaking history as an exceptional innovator and a modern pioneer in lampworking and hot-working techniques applied to complex, virtuosic works. This goblet is a showroom masterpiece, a true work of art that demonstrates an extraordinary technical mastery. The upper cup (drinking part) and the supporting foot display a refined internal decoration with color inclusions that react chemically, creating suggestive color variations in tones of green, aquamarine, and burnt brown. The central stem is a triumph of hot-working modeling, composed of geometrically shaped elements including ribbed spheres and yellow- and red-dotted modules. Toward the end of the stem stands out a magnificent figurative element applied with heat: a multicolored blue, yellow, and red fish, explicitly recalling the rich marine fauna of the Venice Lagoon.
