Attributed to Tiffany Studios New York Grape Leaded Glass and Patinated

Attributed to Tiffany Studios New York "Grape" lampshade of domed form with a profusion of leaded glass grapes and foliage rendered in mottled, striated, and rippled glass in shades of green, blue, yellow, amber, brown, and cream, set against a richly variegated ground. The shade is further embellished with an elaborate pierced and reticulated patinated bronze overlay forming an organic vine and foliate motif around the upper aperture. The intricate glass selection and naturalistic grapevine composition are characteristic of Tiffany Studios' celebrated "Grape" designs. The shade bears a Tiffany Studios signature stamped into the metalwork on the interior lower rim: Tiffany Studios New York 34857. While the workmanship and glass are of notably high quality, we are unable to authenticate the signature or substantiate an attribution to Tiffany Studios. Maker unknown.
