Badge - Grille Badge - RAC - Rheingauer Automobil Club e.V

Enamel grille badge, probably from the RAC, "Rheingauer Automobil Club e.V". The RAC Rheingau is an active, historic German automobile club affiliated with ADAC. The club is based in the Rheingau region (part of the state of Hesse), which explains why the striped Hessian lion is so prominent in the logo. This heavy, enamelled grille badge was produced in the 1970s and 1980s by leading manufacturer Carl Poellath for the members of the automobile club. Produced by Carl Poellath GmbH & Co. KG, Schrobenhausen, Germany, and embossed.
