Beatles - Beatles For Sale (UK) – Scarce 4N/3N Crossover...

A superb original UK mono copy of Beatles For Sale, featuring the scarce XEX 503-4N / XEX 504-3N crossover matrix combination and presented in exceptional EX / EX condition. The original UK mono production began with the familiar 3N/3N matrices, but as production continued EMI introduced replacement lacquers. This resulted in several transitional combinations, including 3N/4N, 4N/3N and 4N/4N. The 4N/3N configuration found on this copy is therefore a particularly interesting crossover variation, combining the later Side 1 cut with the earlier Side 2 3N lacquer. Side 1 is especially attractive from a production point of view, having been pressed from the first mother. ⸻ Sleeve (EX): The original laminated gatefold sleeve is equally impressive. The artwork remains bright and clean, with the laminate retaining excellent sheen and very little of the edge and corner wear normally encountered on original copies. A major highlight is the superb spine, which remains exceptionally clean, strong and fully readable. The rear and interior are also very tidy, giving the sleeve excellent overall presentation → EX Vinyl (EX): The vinyl retains a beautiful deep gloss and presents exceptionally cleanly across both sides. Only the lightest signs of careful previous use are visible under strong light, with no significant marks, heavy playwear or distracting surface damage. The black-and-yellow Parlophone labels are equally impressive and remain remarkably clean → EX ⸻ Details * Original 1964 UK mono pressing * Parlophone PMC 1240 * XEX 503-4N / XEX 504-3N crossover matrices * First mother Side 1 (1 AH) * Laminated gatefold sleeve * Black-and-yellow Parlophone labels * Made in Gt.
