Beautiful set of petrified wood – Freeforms- 2017.64 g - (3)

This exceptional set of petrified wood brings together the full beauty of ancient nature in three unique free-form shapes. The warm earth and red tones, combined with golden, cream-colored and dark nuances, tell the story of a tree that over millions of years was turned to stone. Each grain, every line and every color zone is a natural testament to this impressive transformation. Particularly the polished surface makes the detailed wood grain stand out impressively and, depending on the angle of light, the pieces appear lively. An exclusive set for lovers of special natural artworks—decorative, powerful and full of history. Each piece is a unique item, and together they form a harmonious ensemble with impressive presence. Stone: Extraordinary Quartz, Hand-Polished Petrified Wood Weight: 2017.64 g Treatment: None Origin: Madagascar The lots were photographed under professional lights. Please note that the colours might differ depending on the monitor settings and light source. It is a fossil wood dating back 200 million years; all parts from a log or branches have been silicified, meaning that organic components were little by little replaced by silicon in the form of jasper, chalcedony and more rarely opal. Without the organic parts, all living matter was replaced by stone: there are growth rings, cell separations, almost like worm cracks. Its features are those of the mineral that would have pseudo-transformed the wood: the silicon. And that’s what we call a "petrified wood" in common language.
