Box (2) - 2 jewelry boxes with hinged lids - carved natural alabaster

Elegant pair of vintage Italian jewelry boxes made of natural carved alabaster dating roughly to the 1960s–1970s. The two pieces feature refined material work with vertical grooves and hinges in gilded metal. Of particular decorative note is the contrast between the white-gray veined alabaster of the rectangular box and the intense turquoise/blue tone of the second piece. The blue box retains on the bottom the original label “Genuine Alabaster – Hand Carved – Made in Italy.” Both are complete and keep the interiors in stone. They show normal traces of time and use, visible in the photographs, which are an integral part of the description.
