Stupendously Toned Hung-hsien Dragon Fantasy in Gold CHINA. Fantasy "Hung-hsien" Gold 10 Dollars, "Year 1" (ca. early-mid 20th Century). PCGS Genuine--Harshly Cleaned, AU Details. cf. K-B45 (silver Dollar); KMX-M1375; cf. WS-1349-28 (silver 20 Cents) & WS-1349-33 (silver Dollar). Despite some very subtle cleaning, this VERY RARE fantasy striking presents some rather alluring and enticing color across both sides. In particular, the obverse is awash in a blazing crimson nature that pairs very well with the gold composition. The reverse mixes types, with a dragon that channels the Ch'ing dynasty's "Ho-Poo" series, an upper legend recounting the first year of the Hung-hsien era, and a lower legend usually seen on the early republican crowns and minors relating to the birth of the Republic.
