COMÉDIE-FRANÇAISE — *Femmes d'aujourd'hui*, 1933–1958 — 25th - Lot 66

COMÉDIE-FRANÇAISE — *Femmes d'aujourd'hui*, 1933–1958 — 25th Anniversary COMÉDIE-FRANÇAISE. Twenty-fifth anniversary of *Femmes d'aujourd'hui*, 1933–1958. Paris, Salle Richelieu, April 1958. An elegant commemorative program published on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of *Femmes d'aujourd'hui* at the Comédie-Française. Large quarto in sheets, with a cream-colored paper-lined cover, the front cover adorned with an embossed portrait of Molière, and a white silk cord. Carefully printed in black and red on heavy paper with wide margins. The program notably features Molière’s *Le Misanthrope*, with a cast from the Comédie-Française: Jacques Sereys, François Chaumette, Michel Le Royer, Henri Tisot, Jacques Dumesnil, Bernard Dhéran, etc. It features a reproduction of the frontispiece from the 1682 edition and a historical note dedicated to the play. An interesting feature: it is preserved with its original flyleaf announcing that “Amphitryon had to be replaced in the program by *The Misanthrope*,” an ephemera that nicely complements the copy. Cover slightly pitted and browned in places; interior well-preserved. Public auction estimate: 30–50 €
