Expressive Vintage Ring With Opal & Diamonds, 1970s

Large opals, like all natural and untreated coloured stones, are the most beautiful in the realm of jewels. Not only their beauty inspires, but also their stable value convinces to buy. The opal in the center of the present ring is such an exqusite gemstone. The capital opal from the mines of Australia is of considerable size and shows a wonderful play of colours. In fact, depending on the incidence of light, the colours of the rainbow can be seen. The stone has very many beautiful shades of red, but also green, yellow and even blue and purple nuances can be seen. The gemstone is cut as a flat oval cabochon and covers almost an entire phalanx. A plain frame of gold holds it securely. The asymmetrically placed ring band with three side-mounted brilliant cut diamonds in white gold settings gives the piece of jewellery a surprisingly modern touch. The ring was made in Germany in the 1970s and is in very good condition. The handwork comes from a goldsmith who signed the ring with her mark "HM". Unfortunately, we do not yet know by whom the ring was actually made. An independent expert opinion has confirmed the quality of the materials.
