Gilles Joubert JME (1689-1775) - Games table (2) - Side table

Rare set of two side/playing tables in surprisingly beautiful condition. Three slender, outward-swept typical Louis XV legs, of which one extendable leg supports the unfolded part of the top. The shape is remarkable to name, asymmetrical; when opened, the two together form a diamond. The green thick felt shows signs of wear and a few holes, not disruptive. (See photos) Very high quality, beautiful patina. Hand-polished with a carnauba wax finish. Both pieces are stamped with ‘JOUBERT’, making the maker and period very precisely identifiable.
