This type of vase is an antique Japanese collar vase. Made in blue-and-white porcelain. Made in the Arita region in Japan. Vases from this region with this specific blue-and-white palette are internationally often categorized as Blue and White Imari. The vase dates from the Meiji period (around 1870–1910). The vase is hand-painted in a deep cobalt blue, traditional floral design with birds and flowers. The wavy collar (ruffled rim) at the top is characteristic of this model.
