Todas las subastas / Arte contemporáneo / Javi Villarroel Seoane - Ascent
Ascent arises from the idea that every evolution implies movement: to advance, to transform, and to leave behind what we are no longer. The work projects itself through the human anatomy, moving from a more contained and tangible structure toward a form that is increasingly light, open, and essential. Each fragment suggests a stage, a learning, a transformation. There is no rupture between the starting point and the destination, but a continuity in permanent development. The very structure thus becomes a metaphor for growth: what sustains the present is born from what we were, while what lies above points toward what we still can become. Technical data: Material: Steel Finish: Polished Dimensions: 60x16x16 Shipping: Any country (check duties outside the EU) Rigid double-wall cardboard box, reinforcements, and fragility marked. * In addition, this plinth or others for the sculpture can be purchased. There are several models, all of them exclusive designs by the sculptor (see profile) * More than steel, more than art: Javi Villarroel Seoane develops his work through different sculptural avenues and the design of sculptural furniture, finding in figurative surrealist sculpture the deepest expression of his creative identity. From this vision he builds a universe of his own in which technical precision and artistic sensitivity converge to transform steel into pieces of great expressiveness, balance, and sophistication. His bond with metal has been forged over more than twenty years, spanning from mechanical design and manufacturing to underwater welding, among many others, which has allowed him to push metal to complex physical limits. This artistic language has quickly positioned him as one of the Spanish sculptors with the greatest international projection. His work is part of private collections in twenty European countries, the United Kingdom, and Asia. He has shared auctions with major figures in art history such as Pablo Picasso and Joan Miró, and his work has been featured in specialized publications such as Ars Magazine and international art platforms like The Edge of Humanity Magazine. Furthermore, his inclusion in the collective reference book "Euskal Eskultura Gaur II" affirmed his status as one of the renovators of the avant-garde of contemporary Basque sculpture. His exhibition career includes numerous presentations nationwide, notably the select collective show "20 eskultore" held at the institutional headquarters of the Juntas Generales de Bizkaia (Bilbao, Bizkaia) and the exhibition "Apoteosis del Ser Humano", sponsored by the BK ETL Global fiscal group, held at the Grand Hyatt La Manga Club luxury hotel, Cartagena (Murcia). His work has been recognized with an entrepreneurship award granted by the Bilbao City Council, presented by mayor Juan Mari Aburto. His technical prowess is unquestionable; his language, unmistakable.
