Kingston Penitentiary Nichol Style Blackduck Decoy

Kingston, Ontario, Canada. 2nd Quarter 20th Century. The snakehead style blackduck decoys were carved at the Kingston Penitentiary during the 1930's and 1940's. These were combined from Nichols family decoys. This decoy adorns the earlier style double raised wing tips, head and quite possibly would have been painted by Davey Nichol. Unmarked.
