Long Vintage Box Chain Necklace in Yellow Gold, Italian, c. 1970

The box chain is named 'Venetian chain' in German, after its Venetian origin. This type of chain has rectangular links that interlock in a cube or box shape. Due to the solidity of the links, these chains appear more massive and have beautifully polished surfaces. This necklace is made from high-carat yellow gold: The vintage chain shines in a rich gold tone and features the classic box pattern. It can be worn on its own or with a beautiful pendant. At 70 cm long and around 1.5 mm wide, it can be worn and combined with many pendants and occasions. Its hallmarks show that it was made in Italy.
