- Title of the work: CHANEL CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING COLLECTION ( LEGO STREET ARTWORK ) - Presentation of the work: Here is a composition, an artistic relief détournement, halfway between pop art, street art and a collectible object. A playful reflection on luxury, money, success and each person’s ability to change their situation. Symbols of contemporary culture: dollar, Bitcoin, inscriptions, LEGO figure and brick wall, graphic motifs, logos and fashion references. The Chanel perfume becomes here a kind of symbol of luxury transformed into a work of art, while the inscription “CHANEL CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING” (Chanel can change everything) conveys an idea of freedom and transformation. It gives the whole piece a dimension tied to transformation, ambition and the power to create or modify the world. A contrast between luxury (Chanel, perfume, money) and street art (graffiti, Bitcoin, vibrant colors, characters). Original Pop Street Art work to place or hang BIOGRAPHY of THE ARTIST Lyssandre Saint York, Designer and artist born in the 1970s. My artistic work sits at the crossroads of two worlds that fascinate me: the raw energy of street art and the visual efficacy of pop art. I grew up during the emergence of the 1970s style and the Space Age design, a rupturing era where furniture rejected pre-war sobriety to dare organic shapes, plastic, and vibrant colors. Inspired by this bold aesthetic, I naturally first followed a path in design and fashion, conceiving and selling concepts worldwide for more than 30 years to this day. This mastery of structure and visual impact then unfolds in my artistic creations. My journey as an artist began through play, composing my first works in Lego bricks under a frame. This artistic approach allowed me to revisit great icons of pop culture. Heroes from Star Wars to essential figures like Mario Bros, Mickey, or the emblems of Scrooge McDuck, by mixing symbols of the luxury brands with these Lego characters, icons of an entire generation! I have always enjoyed appropriating these symbols to give them a new dimension. This work naturally extended to creating sculptures with the rebellious Banksy-like graffiti environment, or iconic Art Toy characters. By détournant these sculptures and these emblematic figures, I play on contrasts to question our desires and our consumer society. This conceptual rigor dialogues with the absolute freedom of urban culture. Markers, spray paint, stencils, paint, drips and textured overlays, but also with techniques other than I combine with the chromatic power of pop art. My works have thus become a visual collision where the anticonformism of 70s design and luxury meet the street’s subversive spontaneity. By juxtaposing and reinventing these collective and cult icons with a graphic and instinctive aesthetic, I offer a reading that is nostalgic, multi-layered, impactful and decidedly contemporary of our era with societal themes and minimalist conceptual illustration. From Paris to New York via Taiwan or even Australia, my works travel the world thanks to you and I thank you.
