Melissa Etheridge Yes I Am Island Records Award & Signed Photo

Island Records label award for Melissa Etheridge album Yes I Am, celebrating one million in sales plus signed photo . Released Sept. 21, 1993 as her fourth studio album, it was in fact certified at 6x Multi-Platinum by the RIAA for six million copies sold by 1996. (Note: This is not a RIAA award). Singles included "Come to My Window", which reached #25 on the Billboard Hot 100, "I'm the Only One" which hit #8, and "If I Wanted To", which peaked at #16. This is a label award from Island Records presented to radio promotion tip sheet FMQB to commemorate and thank them for their help in attaining a million sales. It's likely the award was made in 1994 given the presentation plate lists that the album had sold one million copies and shortly after that it far exceeded that total. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece. As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home. Typically, we don't know all the places they may have been over the years other than what we've stated in the description. Finally, a word on photos: Our photos are zoomable so you can get a very good look.
