Mercantile Bank of India, Ltd., Hong Kong, $500, 24.8.1948, serial number 2586, blue on multicolour underprint, Mercury at right, reverse blue-green, (Pick 241), PMG 30, stains, minor foreign substance. One of the icons of Hong Kong banknote, colloquially known as 'Peter Pan'. A completely original example with a bold signature and well centered printing. Most other examples seen on the market are usually with some sort of repairs. Original previously unseen examples are extremely rare.
