Mirko J. Kellner - Altstadt IV - Die Dresdner Frauenkirche -

“OLD TOWN IV” – DRESDEN BETWEEN DREAM AND TIME ( Mirko Joerg Kellner ) A landmark that everyone knows. A view you haven’t seen before. The Dresden Frauenkirche – monumental and yet almost weightless. Familiar and at the same time distant. Light traces sweep through the nocturnal city, contours blur, people and movement become abstract lines. The large-format photograph/artwork “Old Town IV” by Mirko Joerg Kellner transforms one of Dresden’s most famous landmarks into a fascinating composition of architecture, light, movement and time. For sale is Copy No. 3 from a total edition of only 25 worldwide from the cycle “Between Dream and Time.” With a height of 120 cm, the work has an impressive presence. Particularly the combination of long exposure and the silver-mirrored surface makes the subject appear differently depending on lighting and viewing angle. Not a classic Dresden panorama. Not ordinary architectural photography. But Dresden as memory, movement and emotion.
