No Reserve - Extra-Long Antique Bidjar Runner, Persian Kurdistan

Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs No Reserve - Extra-Long Antique Bidjar Runner, Persian Kurdistan, circa 1900 Size: 16 ft 9 in x 3 ft 6 in (5.1 m x 1.06 m) Provenance: Property of New York dealer An exceptionally long Bidjar runner combining nearly seventeen feet of architectural scale with the famously substantial construction of Persian Kurdish weaving. The extended repeating composition creates a strong visual rhythm along the entire length of the carpet, while the dense Bidjar structure gives it exceptional physical presence. Its unusually generous width further distinguishes it from narrower commercial runners. Long antique runners in practical dimensions are increasingly sought after because they can furnish spaces for which authentic replacements are extremely difficult to find. This example is especially appropriate for a gallery, entrance hall or broad corridor. Condition Request Condition Report Lot #439 is in very good condition.
