Pair of Chinese square porcelain vases in Qianjiang Cai with poetic inscriptions, figures and landscapes General description: Refined pair of Chinese square porcelain vases finely decorated with the Qianjiang Cai technique The square shape features on each side decorative panels with figurative scenes painted by hand in delicate pastel tones: sages, literati and children immersed in natural landscapes, rendered with extraordinary expressiveness and literary taste (Wenren). On the sides are poetic inscriptions in Chinese characters drawn in black and red enamel, bearing traditional inscriptions such as "Written at Changjiang" (Jingdezhen) and marked by seals and dedications ("Lantang Jingzeng"). The shoulders of the vases are embellished with lion-head handles with a ring (Pushou) enamelled in coral red.
