Paquebot Liberte French Ocean Liner Silver Plate 1950s Trophy

French silver plated commemorative trophy cup for the ocean liner SS Liberte, produced by Orfevrerie Apollo. The Art Deco style vessel features a tapered U-shaped bowl with a faint interior gold wash, supported by a short pedestal stem and a stepped circular foot. Two angular handles sweep upward from the bowl base to the rim. One side of the bowl is engraved in capital sans-serif letters reading PAQUEBOT LIBERTE. A maker mark appears on the lower exterior consisting of a rectangular stamp with the letter A, a central sunburst device, and the letter O. Adjacent is a square mark containing the numerals 84.
