Precious Vintage Ring With Ruby & Diamonds in Gold, Circa 1991

In the 1980s, power dressing became popular. Bold colours and strong lines defined the wardrobe, which complemented the new self-confident image of the business woman. In jewellery, this concern came to the fore with heavy, solid designs in polished yellow gold, set with white diamonds and brightly coloured stones. This ring is a late child of this development; according to its previous owner, it was acquired in 1991. It is pleasantly heavy on the finger, crafted from high-carat yellow gold and its rich gemstone setting glows warmly and brightly. At the center of the design is a large natural ruby weighing approximately 1.32 ct. The luminous, lipstick-red gemstone is held by a gold frame and surrounded by fine white diamonds. Further diamonds set the ring band on the left and right, creating the impression of a brilliantly sparkling band when worn. This impressive ring is shown to its best advantage on strong fingers. It comes with a certificate from the German Gemstone Appraisal Society on the quality of the materials used.
