This beautiful ring in rose gold and silver features an unusual setting: A large, cushion-shaped faceted sapphire shines at its center. But wait - a sapphire? Aren't sapphires always blue? Yes - and no! Not always! Sapphires occur in nature not only in classic blue, but also in numerous other colour variations. Red sapphires are known as rubies, and green examples can also be found on the market. Rarely, sapphires even show a lime-coloured yellow - like the gemstone in this ring. The enchanting stone weighs 9.51 ct and is accompanied by four brilliant-cut diamonds on the ring shoulders. Untreated coloured gemstones like this one, weighing more than nine carats, are rare lucky finds that are rarely discovered today. The stones are set in silver, while the ring band is made of reddish gold. To ensure that this is an untreated stone, we have had an expert appraisal drawn up confirming that the sapphire is completely natural and has not been heated to improve its colour - as is the case with many sapphires on the market. Both the sapphire and the ring itself probably originate from Ceylon, now Sri Lanka, and the goldsmith's work dates back to around 1950. This precious piece of jewellery found its way to us here in Berlin and represents a rare opportunity for all lovers of precious and unusual gemstones.
