Stilbite Specimen - Height: 12 cm - Width: 33 cm- 11160 g - (1)

The name derives from the Greek στιλβειν, stìlbein, meaning to glitter, to sparkle, in reference to the vitreous and pearly luster of the specimens. Stilbite occurs in multiple forms and appearances: radial aggregates of crystals that form a kind of spiny cushions or cruciform twins. The most prized are those that appear as sheaves of wheat, where the crystals associate with each other in structures wide on the outside and narrow in the center. The crystals can be transparent or translucent, and the shade ranges from white to pink, although they can sometimes take on yellowish or reddish tones, making them even more beautiful. Specimen of stilbite, from Jalgaon District, Nashik Division, Maharashtra, India.
