Stylish Pin With Pearl & Diamond in Gold, circa 1955

"I'm not dressed without a tie pin" is a saying by none other than designer Karl Lagerfeld, who is known to have a special flair for fashion. As a stylish accessory, pins can add a fashionable accent to a tie or lapel and can be used as a distinguishing feature for the gentleman (and of course the lady) of the world. A single pearl, often in combination with a diamond, was always particularly popular as a pin setting. This piece is also in this classic form: at the tip of a gold pin, we see a particularly beautiful large cultured pearl. The pearl has a creamy white colour with a wonderful luster. A fine brilliant-cut diamond of around 0.30 ct sparkles beneath it in a white gold setting. The result is a timeless piece with a character all of its own that speaks of a sense of style and taste. A beautiful piece of jewellery history from the middle years of the last century that found its way to us from Nuremberg.
