This type of engine formed the reliable backbone of commercial aviation for decades and powered iconic airliners such as the Boeing 727, the early Boeing 737-100/-200, and the McDonnell Douglas DC-9. Condition and Aviation Story: This specific unit is made from a high-grade and extremely strong titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) and possesses the characteristic aerodynamic twist. The blade was dismantled at Sabena Technics in Zaventem at the time. The component has officially been decommissioned and rejected for further aviation use (decommissioned / scrap).
