Vintage Daisy Ring with 1.40 ct Diamonds in Yellow Gold, c. 1990

A total of nine brilliant cut diamonds sparkle with wonderful brilliance. They are set in 14-karat yellow gold and form a flower head. The ring band tapers towards the ring shoulders, making the ring face appear to almost float. Viewed from the side, shiny polished gold surfaces lift the gemstone setting above the finger. The warm colour of the gold gives the ring an exciting contrast between the colour of the sun and the icy fire of the diamonds. Historically, flower rings often had a romantic meaning, as bouquets of flowers were all too often gifts of affection. This gave rise to the proverbial language of flowers, which was particularly widespread in the 19th century. For example, in the chapter on the so-called "language of flowers" in the "Bildungsbibliothek für Teutschlands Töchter" published in Augsburg in 1834, one can read that daisies stand for gentleness, youth, pure and quiet joy, as well as for modesty and love. The ring was created around the end of the last millennium and came to us from Vienna. It is in very good condition.
